Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community, with over 7,000 Registered Yoga Schools and more than 100,000 Registered Yoga Teachers, as of April 2020.

Branding
Yoga Alliance’s challenging prompt was: “If you search for ‘yoga’ on the internet and see all the image results, that is exactly what we do not want.” In order to move away from a posture-focused approach to yoga in graphics, I conceptualized the logo based on a mandala. The design features outer and inner petals merging into one, symbolizing the 8 Limbs of Yoga—Yama (abstinences), Niyama (observances), Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (Absorption/Union).Registration Marks
Part of the branding process involved creating official registration marks for yoga studios and teachers registered with the Yoga Alliance. The defined styles include a simple mark, one with the nomenclature arranged around the circle, and one with the nomenclature positioned beneath the circle—each available in monochromatic black, white, and full-color versions. The full-color variations included red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, resulting in a total of 1,200 files.
Collateral
The branded collateral expanded into digital and print collateral that includes retractable banners, t-shirts, stationery, lanyards, and more.
Web Design
I designed the main page layouts for the new Yoga Alliance website, creating cohesive templates that ensure brand consistency and a user-friendly experience, with development handled externally by the Alliance.
